Another Bank Holiday Approaches

Four weeks on Saturday to our 3 weeks off to cruise. We are thinking we may do the Four Counties Ring this year. Hopefully we will get some sunshine.

Gloucester Docks

This was the view from the waterside flat where we recently stayed in Gloucester Docks. We went down for the boat show, and were lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to stay in this flat which belongs to a friend of mine.

We were very lucky with the weather, and had a visit to the nearby town of Gloucester; we have been to the docks many times before but never realised how close the shops were. There was also a new designer outlet , so lots of shops to explore.

London last week

Can't believe its a whole week since we were Teddying about in London. It was such nice weather, we did Camden on Thursday, and Covent Garden on Friday. Ted was really good, and took grandad Dave to the toilets at regular intervals.

After Covent Garden, on Friday, we went to look at the Thames and the wheel, and we had a drink in the garden cafe at the Embankment.

First Trip Out Of 2011

First time out for what seems like months. We have been lucky with the weather. We went up to Fradley, stayed there 2 nights and have now turned round and moored before Hopwas.

Ive spent all afternoon sussing how to connect my phone as a modem, to my PC and appear to have managed it. What I havent yet managed is to post to my blog from my phone. Its nice though to have "spare" time, as I dont normally have any. Ive also nearly read a complete book. I will try and post a photo, then have another go from my phone.

Nearly March

Thought I'd better blog again, before I forget how to do it. That would rather defeat the purpose of this.

What a Lovely Day !

Today was lovely. Blue sky, birds tweeting, and the sun was actually visible.

It was the first day for months we hadn't lit the fire. It really makes you feel like doing the jobs. Washing , cleaning etc. We had the front covers open until about five.

Rather Windy Today

Its so windy I've brought in the life ring off the roof. We had intended to be doing boat jobs today, but seem to have fizzled out after going to B&Q for some bits and pieces. It didnt help , having to pay the moorings, electricity and a gas bottle.

Thankfully its not iced over now, though we still haven't started the engine since well before Christmas. Oh roll on the lighter evenings, and the chirp of birds. Today, for the first time this year , we noticed the ducks are pairing up.

About time I got this started isnt it?

Having created this blog ages ago, I suddenly came accross it and realise I'd never used it.

Whilst I shan't be blogging all the time, I wanted to use it for times when we are away on the boat and can log our daily position and activities, rather than having to write lots of e mails to people.

It will be mainly for Sarah , and also Anne and Dad, and don't lets forget the one and only Local Mango. If I can start using it now, and get used to putting stuff on, then once we go out on a cruise, it will be a way to keep track of us. So for now its "testing testing"
